I’ve just taken a round with difficult word on Memrise, and here’re my results: And here are some new words I really liked: A stalemate — a contest, dispute,etc., in which neither side can gain the advantage Impasse — unable to make a progress To impeach — to criticize,cast doubt on the truthfulness of something, to charge somebody with a crime Mistif — incongrous, a person different from other people, not belonging to a particular group — I actually couldn’t find a proper translation for this one, though I get its meaning. ClassicalXmodern As long as it sounds good — I give it a go. Such experiments, or “Mash-ups” flooded the Net 3 or 4 years ago, and it’s not an easy task to combine songs in a way that would sound smooth and pleasent. I think innovating classic like that lets the young generation familiarize themselves with classical works, which is great. Our Russian musicians actually did the same with Soviet songs. They were working on a video game Atomic Heart, set in an alternative universe in USSR. This combination of old and new refreshes the songs with respect to the original.
