Movies discrepancies
--
The film that got rave reviews but disappointed me personally is The Suicide Squad (2019). The hype that surrounded the release was enormous due to the chioce of the director of the film — James Gunn, the director of Guardians of the Galaxy whom the audience fell in love with. I was excited as well, especialy due the R rating, because it’s the only possible rating a movie with such characters should get, unlike the first Suicide Squad (2016), which was a huge fail. So, what’s wrong with the new one? For me it was like I was watching a movie not by a famous gifted and experienced director but by a teen who who thinks he’s cool, because he swears and says some nasty things outloud. It was disgusting and awfull. The jokes are out of place, not funny, and just awkard. So are the so-called dialogs which just make you want to go deaf. My guess for its success is that due to its rating, which is rarely given to movies based on comix. Like 18+ sign is enough to be the greatest movie of all times. No, it’s not.
Unfortunately, there’s no film that I didn’t think I would like, but which I really enjoyed. I always watch trailers and check ratings before watching, so I come prepared, so to so. That’s why if before watching the film I’m skeptical about it, than it probably won’t be good, and vice versa.
The film that I really liked but which my friends didn’t enjoy is The Eternals. I believe it’s one of the most unorthodox Marvel movies due to it’s plot, characters, and visuals. I mostly liked of the way the movie introduced the new characters, and how smoothly they were implemented. There are some moments which made me question the logic of the plot, however, I think the movie is highly underrated.
These discrepancies are nothing special, because at the end of the day, it’s all about people’s preferences and tastes. Of course, the ratings don’t lie most of the time and they usally coincide with my opinion about the film, though it’s still individual for eveerybody.
