Some Internet tools I use to study
The Net’s full of resources for studying, which allow to save up time or simply give you the definition of the word you need. So, today I’d like to impart the ones I use myself.
- The first and the most needed is Oxford Learner’s dictionary — https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/
It provides you with all you need: the meaning of the word, its British and American variants, and a few examples of use. Also there are many rather unorthodox idioms, forms of words, nearby words. Basically, it’s design is very convenient and friendly to the user, so you’ll get used the first time you visit the site.
2. The second one is the Agenda Web — https://agendaweb.org/
It’s the site I used when I was doing tutoring, because there’re plenty of exersices on various topics, different types of them, songs, videos, and categories, which make navigating much easier. It’s one of the best sites not just to find exersices but also to gain some inspiration to create one.
3. The third site is not really a “study-English” one, thogh it’s full of resources you’ll find useful for yourself — https://www.youtube.com/
For me Youtube is one of the major sources of the English language, because there are native speakers there you can listen to, there are Russian teachers who have had close contact with natives and who are able to help you with the problmes you’re having as a Russian learner of English. Moreover, the videos don’t have to be abot studying, listening to natives is still one the best ways to study a language, for this I highly recommend watching foreingres regurarly.
